Heritage Mason

Stone & Co. holds the winter contract for the White Hall portico — the same columns our alumni cross every December. They need a Heritage Mason who can read a weathered capital, cut its replacement and set it so the next century cannot tell the difference.

What the role entails

• Carve and set replacement masonry on two listed facades.
• Document every stone for the conservation officer's archive.
• Demonstrate the craft to visitors during the December exhibition.

What you bring

• Heritage masonry experience and a portfolio of carved work.
• Respect for old stone and the patience it demands.
