Training Assistant

Helix Training runs the federation's evening workshops — the night school that trained half the alumni on this site. As Training Assistant you will set up benches, guide beginners through first fixings, keep the tool wall honest and make sure every student leaves safer than they arrived.

What the role entails

• Prepare benches, materials and demonstrations for three evening cohorts a week.
• Coach beginners one-to-one in joinery basics and domestic electrics safety.
• Track attendance and progress notes for the lead tutor.

What you bring

• A completed Northfield apprenticeship or equivalent bench experience.
• Patience with absolute beginners and a tidy tool wall.
• Evening availability, Monday to Wednesday, term time.
